Heavy What ifs...

Heavy What ifs...

It’s been a bit since I’ve written, and I’ll be honest: it hasn’t been easy. Have you ever had those days where the doubt just feels heavy? Where you’re frustrated that you can’t do more, and it feels like everything is battling against your best efforts?

I’ve been there. I have all these grand ideas and plans for Hebras, but some days, the bridge between a "dream" and "fruition" feels impossible to cross.

I’ve finally started practicing my setup for YouTube and TikTok, but that little itch keeps coming back: "What if this isn’t good enough?" I don’t have a studio. I don’t have a professional camera. I don’t have a library of "groundbreaking" new ideas. I just have what I know, and the heart to do what I love.

But I’m realizing that maybe that’s enough.

Lately, I’ve been spending my time at the library, diving into books and working through different granny square patterns. I’ve been searching for the ones that are actually accurate—the ones that deliver what they promise. It’s been a process of trial and error, but it sparked an idea for a new series: The Granny Square Sessions. I’m going to share the squares I make, give an honest rating on the patterns, and provide a tutorial on how to recreate them. I want to save you the frustration I’ve felt and help us all build something beautiful together.

I’m still practicing my photography setup, so I used Gemini to clean up the background and help these squares pop. The background is digital, but the stitches (and the unwoven ends!) are 100% my own work from my latest library-book session.

None of the squares I’m sharing today have their ends woven in yet (real life, right?), but they all come from the same source. Over the next few days, I’ll be going through them one by one to give you the full breakdown.

Here’s a little sneak peek at the beginnings of the collection.
